2023 Final Eligibility List

2023 Testing Period Deadline was August 4th.

The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District (LRFPD) is immediately accepting applications to create an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.  LRFPD anticipates hiring up to six (6) Firefighter/Paramedic candidates for positions currently open.

Position Highlights

• Starting Firefighter/Paramedic $76,347 (3.5% increase for 2023).

• No residency or Living Radius Requirement

• Firefighter/Paramedics work a 24-hour shift followed by 48-hours off duty.

• Probationary Firefighter/Paramedics acquires 12 paid time off (PTO) days during first year.

• Paid sick leave for 24 hour shift employees accrues on a monthly basis at a rate of 12 hours per month with no maximum accrual amount.

• Sick leave incentive program.

• LRFPD offers a comprehensive health care benefit plan (Blue Cross Blue Shield).

• Free dental insurance and life insurance.

• Vision insurance available.

• Illinois downstate pension plan. In addition, a 457-Retirement Savings Plan in which the District can contribute up to 6% of base salary.

• Tuition reimbursement.

• Visible tattoos permitted within LRFPD policy parameters (no neck, face, wrists).
